Portable Car Refrigerator-fridge is small enough to fit in most vehicles

A portable car refrigerator is a dream appliance for those on the go. The fridge is small enough to fit in most vehicles without taking up a great deal of space. The fact that it can be so easily transported makes it a sound investment for those who enjoy traveling as well as camping. Keep items fresh is important as well, especially if they are items that need to be kept cold. The overall convenience of a mini fridge that can be taken with you leads many people to get one for their vacations.

Portability
The fact that a mini fridge can be easy transported makes it appealing to many people who travel a great deal. The appliance can be powered off of the cigarette lighter in the vehicle, meaning your items will stay cool during the entire trip. Before the portable car refrigerator, most people had to pack a cooler with a ton of ice to keep their foods cold. Instead, now all they have to do is plug in their fridge and they are all set to go.

Keeps Items Fresh
Items that must be refrigerated will work well in a mini fridge that is portable. When traveling with babies, some of their foods must be kept cool or it will spoil. Having this fridge will allow the items to stay fresh without the need for a hefty cooler and tons of ice. Also, having cool drinks and snacks in the mini fridge limits the amount of stops that have to be made for hungry and thirsty travelers. All you have to do is open the fridge and you have plenty of room available for items without having to hit up convenient stores!

Convenience
The main benefit of a portable car refrigerator may be the fact that is well designed to be small yet functional. Not much room will be taken up in the vehicle by the appliance, but it will still offer a great deal of storage for cold items. It can easily fit in a seat, floorboard, or trunk, so long as it has access to the cigarette lighter or power supply to keep it running. For camping trips, the mini fridge provides the travelers with a way to keep their foods cool while in the middle of the woods without the weight of a large cooler.

Sources to Consider Purchase Your Car

Sources to Consider

Car sales can be found just about anywhere. There are quite a lot of private vendors that sell their cars privately, independent and national car dealers and exclusive showrooms for new cars. There are also a few dealers that sell cars that have been repossessed or have been taken from police impounds. You can also get into an agreement with a loan company that claims the cars from buyers who have not been regular with their payments. Since these loan companies have to recover their money fast, they often sell them to buyers at a very low rate. This would be a good source for you to try. You can even consider a car auction.

Details about the Car Ensure that you get complete details about the car before actually purchasing it. Check the paperwork and its accident history, servicing and other important details. The price of the car would depend on these facts so it is important for you to take a closer look. You should also take along a mechanic with you to the car sales so that the car can be closely inspected. When it comes to technical details, you might not really have a very keen eye. The mechanics would be able to highlight any potential problems with the car and you can negotiate the rate further once you have the information.

Don't Feel Pressurized One of the most important things to remember is that no matter source you approach for purchasing the car, there will always be salesmen around that will try to push you into making a decision. Their job is to ensure that the sale is done as quickly as possible. However, purchasing a car is a very important decision and one which should not be done in haste. Do not feel pressurized and take as much time as you want to for making a decision. Also, negotiate your rate with the car dealer. The price of the cars is always negotiable and depending on your skills, you would be able to get a considerable price reduction on the car sales.

Motor oil carries hazardous engine deposits away from the engine.

An oil filter removes these impurities from the lubricant, so that it can continue to protect the engine parts. It is the main line of defense against abrasion and engine deposits, and should be renewed in conjunction with an oil change before it becomes clogged. Full flow filtration systems in today's cars pump the lubricant through to the filter before it reaches the engine parts. Like the oil itself, the filters vary, and each different kind has different effects on each engine.
The two basic types of oil filtration used in cars are spin-on and cartridge filters, although most cars today are made to fit cartridge filters. However, this can vary by manufacturer: though many have switched back to using the cartridges, the spin-on variety was the standard for years. The spin-on filters are fashioned inside a metal can which unscrews from a mount on the engine. This makes installation and replacement during an oil change much easier and cleaner than the cartridge filters. The cartridge cost less because it uses less materials, but it tends to drip excess oil in the process of replacing it with a new one.
The materials used to make the filter can have a difference in the effectiveness of the filtration. Single-pass efficiency, multi-pass efficiency, and micron rating are the three main criteria for determining how well an oil filter will keep the lubricant clean. The filter's ability to remove contaminants on a single pass through the filter helps determine the single-pass efficiency.

Subsequent passes through the filter determine the multi-efficiency rating. An acceptable filter will eliminate at least 98 percent of the impurities on the fast pass. However, the multi-pass rating is a better indicator of the filter's efficiency because contaminated oil will continue to run through the engine. An ideal multi-pass rating is at 96 percent of the impurities that pass through the filter after the first time. The micron rating is a measurement of what size particles are allowed to pass through. An ideal micron rating is 10, this means that large particles cannot pass through the filter and damage the engine; larger particles tend to cause more damage. The filter's ratings can vary depending on the type of materials used to make the filter and its thickness.
Choosing the right filter is just as important as choosing the right oil when getting an oil change. It should be changed regularly along with the oil because it loses its effectiveness if it is already full of particles and impurities from the used oil. Refer to the owner's manual for your vehicle to determine the best filtration system for the type of engine and conditions.

Oil change is very crucial for the health of a car

there are many professionals who can perform this automotive chore in the blink of an eye, a relatively knowledgeable do-it-yourselfer can probably do it at home for less money. And price tag aside, it can be a satisfying skill to add to your competence and independence repertoire. Here are some things to think about when trying it yourself:
This is a messy task and oily substances are difficult to launder out of clothing. Make certain you wear old clothes that you don't care about or duds that you will always designate for messier tasks.
Gloves are also a good idea. The hands can become stained without them. A good set of work gloves will not only offer protection but will aid in gripping and handling tools and machinery.
If the engine is cold, it's best to warm it up before doing this job. A chilly engine will allow deposits to move out of the suspension and may not be properly cleaned out during this process.
Check the dipstick. Pull it out, wipe it off, and then replace it. After waiting a couple of minutes, pull it out and check it again. This method will give a more accurate reading of oil usage.
Make certain you have the proper tools before starting this process as you don't want to have to go looking for them right in the middle. You will need wrenches, a jack and a funnel. You will also need a container to drain the fluid into.
In order to keep the car from rolling during this task, in is important that you wedge bricks or blocks behind the tires. A rolling vehicle can be disastrous for the mechanic working beneath it. Take precautions against this potential mishap with wedged chocks, blocks or even rocks.
Filters should be changed at the same time. Make certain that you purchase the top quality filter for the best results. Go to the auto supply shop and they can help you find the best one for your auto.
All oil is not created the same. The owners' manual will list the type and weight of lubricant that is designated for your car. The sides of the cans usually have the designation stamped on them. A cautionary note is to beware of accidentally picking up "non-detergent" oil which may look very similar but is actually the lubricant used for landscaping tools.
Be kind to the planet and recycle the dirty lubricant. Pouring it on the ground or down the drain is an absolute no-no. Water supplies and plants can be extremely adversely affected by this act of ignorance. Recycling is simple. Fill up old milk jugs and tote the discarded stuff to the local auto shop. They will take it off your hands for free and recycle it.
Doing your own oil change can be great for your automobile and a satisfying experience for you, the motorist. One more mission accomplished.

Internal combustion engine and the motor oil

The question of how the internal combustion engine came to be, or who invented it, is not a simple one. A great number of engineers and scientists throughout history have designed its various parts, originally for other purposes. One of the many crucial parts of the engine is the oil that lubricates it. Without it, the amount of friction and heat would prevent the engine from working properly. Not only does the oil reduce heat by directly reducing friction, it also literally moves heat away from the moving parts of the engine. Having a regular oil change generally improves the performance of an engine and prevents damage and breakdown.

Motor oil also has other benefits. It protects the parts of the engine from accumulating small pieces of metal that a produced by the parts moving together. It removes these bits, as well as protecting the metal parts of the engine from corroding or otherwise being damaged by their intense environment. Motor oil is used in internal combustion engines that power a wide variety of technologies, including vehicles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, as well as the in engines in power generators and other similar technologies.
There are several different types of motor oil, and technological innovations have brought forth new kinds of oil for a variety of purposes. Synthetic oils, bio-based oils, and motor oils that are derived from plastic waste are some of the motor oils that research has produced. When getting an oil change, it is important to know what is available and what will work best in your vehicle.
Synthetic oils were originally created by German scientists during World War II for military purposes. These human-made oils could withstand greater temperature differences than geologically produced oil. Today there are a variety of synthetic oils available to consumers, although they are usually more necessary in extreme conditions. When looking to have an oil change, consider the options available and the needs of your vehicle when choosing which motor oil to use.
Bio-based oils and oils derived from plastic waste were created as more sustainable possibilities, as the realization that we will eventually face an end to the age of easily-obtainable oil set in. Bio-based oils have been around longer than geologically produced oils, but like the electric car, were put on the back burner until the recent increase in awareness of the inevitable limit that will be reached when it becomes too expensive to extract oil from the earth.
Inevitably, any engine will eventually need an oil change. Doing some research and reading your vehicle's manual are the best ways to determine when your vehicle needs an oil change.

How To Clean Yellow Headlights

Yellow or oxidized headlights are a big problem with vehicles today. The big question is how to clean them and keep them looking like new. The best thing to do is NOT just to clean them but restore them either with a DIY headlight restoration kit or call in a professional headlight restoration service. Before we go into how to clean or restore them, we need to understand what they are made off and what causes them to get discolored or oxidized.

From my three years experience in the headlight restoration service industry I have found it is a combination of things that causes your headlights to yellow or become discolored either cloudy, foggy or hazy. Pretty much disgusting, more like an eye-saw.
Here are the major contributors for yellow headlights:
  • Headlights are now made from poly carbon plastic instead of Glass. This type of plastic is very hard but very porous. So they need to be sealed.
  • The debris from the road which is basically small rocks, sand and pebbles being kick up by on-going traffic at speeds of 30 to 80 mph acts like a sand blaster on your headlights. Now this debris eventually chips away the sealer of your headlights making small dents and cracks. Then these dents and crack starts to collect dirt and grime from all around.
  • The suns UV rays combined with the acid rain and the acid from the stomach of bugs plus the petro chemical from the asphalt on the roads eats away on the sealer on your headlights like a cancer. Before you know it your once nice crystal clear looking headlight gets foggy, cloudy and yellow. If at this point you don't address the situatation of restoring them your headlights can and will start to get heavily oxidized resulting in a rough to the touch feeling. Apart from looking ugly you will be loosing a great deal of your light projection which can result in an accident.
The Solution Headlight Restoration:
Now we know the cause of your headlights yellowing we can solve the problem by restoring the headlights. First you will have to clean them and then sealing them for a longer lasting result. Over the year I have used different ways of restoring yellow headlights. The most effective method is the wet sanding process, polishing and sealing. This process produces the best results. You can accomplish this by using a do it yourself headlight restoration kit or calling in a professional headlight restoration service. The average pair of headlights takes about one hour to be restored properly.
Basic Headlight Restoration Procedure:
  1. You will need to tape off or mask the yellow headlights to protect your vehicle paint job.
  2. Start sanding the lenses with a 1000 grit sand paper then go to a 1500 grit and then a 2000 grit. I suggest using wet/dry sand paper. While sanding, keep the headlight surface wet with a spray bottle filled with water or use a garden hose running slowly.
  3. After wet sanding wash headlight with clean water and then polish the headlights with preferable a water-soluble polish.
  4. Before your final step of sealing the headlights you need to dry them off completely. If necessary use a blow dryer to ensure that there is no moisture on them because a drop of water can ruin your entire finish. Then finally seal the headlights with a good quality polymer sealer. The quality of your sealer will depend on how long your headlights will stay looking like new.
Basically that's how you clean and restore yellow or oxidized headlights. Good luck in restoring yours.

Changing a Tire-how one can change tires?

Here is how one can change tires. Follow the directions.
Tools Needed

- Jack
- Wheel lock key
- Wheel chocks or bricks
- Wheel nut wrench
- Rubber mallet
- Pry bar, tire iron or large screwdriver
- Protective work gloves

Directions
Step 1:
The car has to be parked on a level surface and the parking brake has to be engaged. The manual transmission cars should be placed in gear. Ensure that the car is not on the road. The engine has to be turned off and the hazard lights should be turned on. Open the car's hood as this will be an indication of a vehicle under repair for other drivers.

Step 2:
Place a big rock or wheel chock behind the tire for preventing the car from rolling. It must be done even when there is a slight incline. Take out the car jack, spare, lug nut and wrench.
Step 3:
The hubcap should be removed if needed.

Step 4:
The lug nuts which hold the wheel should be loosened before the car is jacked up. One end of the lug nut wrench should be placed over the lug nut. A hollow pipe having a length of about 2 feet should be used for leverage by slipping it over the end of the lug nut wrench. Now the wrench can be turned anti-clockwise for loosening the lug nut. It should be loosened in a pattern of a star, loosen the first with few turns and then loosen the opposite one. Work crosswise on the tire until all the nuts are slightly unscrewed.

Step 5:
Carefully raise the car on the jack and consult the car manual for more instructions. The car has to be jacked up a little more higher than needed so that there will be space available to remove the old tire and then putting on the new one.

Step 6:
The lug nuts have to be removed all the way and put them aside where they will not roll away. The flat tire will be hanging from the struts at this point.

Step 7:
Remove the flat tire now and place it aside.

Step 8:
Lift the new tire on to the wheel studs. In case there is any confusion regarding putting it in a correct way, then try to locate the valve from where the air is filled because it always points outwards.

Step 9:
Now the lug nuts should be replaced. Tighten them in the same way in which they were loosened. Turn each nut for few times and work in a pattern of a star around the wheel. Don't tighten the adjacent nuts consecutively.

Step 10:
Now when the tire has been put on, lower the jack slowly and then remove it.

Step 11:
The lug nuts can be tightened again, make sure that they are tightened firmly.

Step 12:
Now the hubcap can be put back on.
The new tire is on the wheel. Take the old tire to the auto store or repair shop as soon as possible, and have the lug nuts properly torque.

Tips & Precautions - NEVER go under a vehicle that is supported by a jack. If intended, use an approved jack stand for supporting the vehicle.
- A hydraulic jack will make the car jack up easier.
- Be sure that you are aware where the wheel key lock is, it should be in the car. The places are the glove box and it can be attached to the jack handle.
- The method for changing tires can be practiced few times to get familiarized so one will be prepared in emergency cases.

Cheap Rims -Improving a car's appearance and performance

Rims and tires are important part of improving a car's appearance and performance. Various wheel manufacturers construct different styles of rims. Different styles of rim are available to enhance your cars performance and appearance.

The spinning wheels, chrome rims, and custom rims are the most popular types of custom wheels. The spinning rims continue to spin when the car is not moving for it is only attached to the tire. Because it is made of chrome material, chrome rims are considered as the elite type of rim. The custom or styled rims only enhances the car's appearance.

There are several factors to consider when shopping rims for your car. The size, material, durability, and style of the wheel must be regarded as important when purchasing rims. In doing so, you can find out the cheaper rims that will suit your car. Many think that low quality wheels are cheaper than high quality rims. However, there are available cheap wheels that provide excellent performance too.

There are numerous number of vendors that retail cheap rims for your car that offer great quality. These vendors offer free shipping services and great deals their customers. Some wheel vendors offer services such as custom fitting, mounting, and balancing of wheel to your automobile.
It is imperative to compare different vendor services when you decide to purchase cheap rims. You have three options to do this - visit the wheel outlets, search online vendors, and go to tire shops. You can save more money in purchasing wheels in outlet stores and tire shops because you have the power to negotiate the price.
Because rims increase your cars worth, it is essential to select the right custom wheels. Various designs of rims that can improve your cars' appearance and performance range in price.

Get cash for junk cars

There are companies that offer an easy sell of your car. These vehicles can help you realize returns instantly. Be it any makes or models, foreign or domestic, working or not working, it will have its buyer for sure.

Why people buy junk cars?
Many people call these sell - a cheap deal but its demand is increasing day-by-day. Some companies buy these automotives just to make them a cheap old usable car for resale. Some company buys over them and converts them into project cars. Sometimes, these cars can be converted into valuable classic cars and treasured for years to come. Car lovers buy such cars and protect them a lot. Sometimes, they can be put into the museums and proper car is ensured to ensure their good condition.

diesel engine-important things

When it comes to diesel engine there are quite a few important things that you need to know. The most important consideration should be to make your car environment friendly. And therefore it is essential to make your diesel engine compatible with the bio-diesel. This is good for the environment as well as the car. Pure biodiesel is non-toxic, is biodegradable and has no trace of sulfur or any kind of aromatics. Biodiesel will burn easily in any kind of diesel engine. And it will do a world of good to your engine.
Now the most important question is how you will make your diesel engine compatible with pure biodiesel. Though this is not difficult at all you will have to make sure that you follow all the steps closely. The very first stage is preparation. First you will need to fill your empty engine with biodiesel. Then you will have to expend the fuel by regular use. If you notice that your engine is performing poorly prior to full expend of the fuel you will have to move to the next step. The next step is to halt at a safe space and allow your engine to cool down. Then you will need to don your safety equipments, especially rubber gloves and eye protection.
Next you will have to perform the most important procedure of changing your fuel filter. Use a screw-driver or an open-ended wrench to remove the fuel lines from the filter. When you perform this step make sure that you place a pan underneath so that any fuel that leaks or spills is caught in the pan. Then you will have to remove your old fuel filter. You may need to special filter wrench for this. Fit in a new fuel filter. You will have to "prime' the filter with some biodiesel. Reattach the fuel lines and replace the fuel line washers. Use a rag to clean the excess fuel. Dispose the fuel from the catch pan and rag.

Gas And A Diesel Engine-two engines all about?

Obviously fuel economy was quite low. It was this low fuel economy which inspired the creation of the engine running on diesel. The fuel economy of a diesel was obviously 20% to 30% better than the original. But what creates this difference? The answer lies in the way both of it are driven. While the gasoline runs on the Otto cycle the diesel runs on the compression engine. What exactly are these two engines all about?
As mentioned previously runs on the Otto cycle. This process is also known as the four stroke engine. Ideally this engine is supposed to be quite thermally efficient and is to produce real low waste material compared to what it consumes. The engine is basically powered by the internal combustion. To run it uses four basic steps, the reason the engine has been called the four stroke engine.

The first stage is where the air and gasoline is taken in by the engine and is known as the intake stage. The next stage or the compression stage is when pressure is applied on this mixture. The ignition phase follows where a spark is lit causing the mixture to ignite. In the nest and last stage the engine exhausts out the exhaust material from the engine.

While the it runs on these similar stages it is the third phase that sets it apart from the gas engine. While the latter needs a spark to be lit to ignite the engine the diesel does not. Instead, it uses the compression technique. The engine instead compresses air to add heat and once the heat is added the engine acquires its power. That is the basic difference between a gas and a diesel engine

ways that you can reduce the environmental impact of your driving

1. Share your rides with others. Offer your neighbor a ride to the grocery store, go to parties with friends who live near you, offer to pick up some other children from school when you are getting your own, or plan outings ahead of time with others. You'll be building community at the same time that you are saving gas.

2. Switch to a car that gets better mileage. It doesn't have to be a hybrid; if you live in the country, as we do, there is less benefit to hybrids than there is for city dwellers. This is because one of the primary ways that hybrids conserve gas is that they don't run when idling at a stop. There are many small cars now with miles per gallon figures that were unheard of in the recent past.

3. Combine your errands and save time as well as money. You don't need to go to the grocery store constantly. Keep a list going on your refrigerator door and do larger shopping less often. And when you do go to the grocery store, stop by the library, the drugstore, the hardware store, the bank, and anywhere else you need to go. You could even go by a friend's house for a short visit as well.
We live an hour's drive from the nearest large town, so we are motivated to do all these errands at once. We can usually go two weeks between visits, buying a few groceries in our small town in between major shopping forays. We keep a cooler in the trunk of our car and another one in the back of our small pickup, so we don't usually need the dry ice available at the grocery store. I like to get all the errands done and then enjoy lunch out before heading home.

4. Simplify the schedules of your school-age children.Consider whether their lives are overly booked and too demanding of fossil-based transportation. For example, they could ride bikes more.

5. Walk if you are going a short distance. If you are within walking distance of a store you need to go to, use a backpack to carry what you buy. Walk instead of getting in a car when you go see a nearby friend. Don't have any friends nearby? Well, try going for walks around your neighborhood on nice weekend afternoons, and meet some new people!

Vehicle Wraps -Many major corporations

The economic outlook may be trending upward finally, but vehicle wraps will continue to prove a wise investment for many savvy marketing pros and business owners. Vehicle wraps may still be the new kid on the block in the advertising neighborhood, but it looks like they are here to stay.
First, what exactly is a vehicle wrap? Simply stated, vehicle wraps are digitally printed vinyl graphics with protective laminate applied to automobiles (buses, boats, cargo trucks, cars, etc.) for the purpose of marketing (for the most part), although some individuals choose to wrap their car just to jazz it up a little.

Many major corporations, like McDonald's, have jumped on the bandwagon. Don't be surprised to see a Mini Cooper wrapped with a McMuffin and a McCaffe drink tooling around in the 'burbs where you live... images so realistic you'll be tempted to reach out and take a bite.
Here are five reasons to consider vehicle wraps.

1. Car wraps are cost-effective.
An average mid-sized sedan can be fully wrapped for around $4,000. Do the math. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for five years, that comes out to just under $67 per month. Now, compare that to radio, billboards, TV, magazines, or newspaper advertising. Invariably, vehicle wraps will win that argument.

2. Wraps are a very targeted form of advertising.
Who decides where to drive the vehicle? The driver of the vehicle, of course. This gives you tremendous strategic flexibility. Not getting the results you want sporting about in Neighborhood A? Try parking the car for a week at the busy intersection of Neighborhood B for a while. Of course, a fixed billboard alongside the Interstate doesn't allow that kind of nimble trial and error strategizing as the billboard on wheels does.

3. Visibility and recognition.
According to the Transportation Advertising Council (a division of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America), vehicle wrap advertising generates between 30,000 - 70,000 daily vehicle impressions. Not only do a lot of people see the vehicle, a lot of people take notice of the vehicle.
Most vehicle wrap companies have a website which can give you an idea of the kinds of eye-catching, captivating, sure-to-turn-heads designs that can be produced with today's graphic arts technology. Today's wrap ad graphic designer can turn any boring 4-door sedan into an explosion of moving art, certain to get noticed.

4. Reinforce your company as innovative and cutting-edge.
Whereas a quarter-page ad in the local Sunday newspaper may seem staid and conservative, a fun car with captivating images and your company logo zipping about town can only help reinforce your image as fresh, innovative, modern, different, interesting, dynamic, and bold... which, psychologically, may very well be the difference between Mr. Potential Customer choosing you over Mr. Boring Sunday Paper Guy.

5. Auto Wraps give you a professional image.
We're accustomed to seeing "the big boys" (as in the above-mentioned McDonald's) out front and ahead of the curve when it comes to advertising trends. Vehicle wraps can lend credibility, add stature and help elevate and position you into that same league.
All in all, vehicle wrapping is a low-cost, high-impact method of spreading your message to the masses and one that most companies who rely on advertising should consider.

Magnesium wheels-magnesium alloy

Magnesium wheels, also known as mag wheels, are a type of rims for vehicles of all sorts that are typically made of a magnesium alloy. Initially only used on race cars, due to the enhanced cosmetic appearance these wheels offer, they are also a very popular accessory on a variety of vehicles these days.
In most instances, car rims are made of steel due to its strength, although there are some that are made of other materials that are lighter in weight but still have the strength of steel wheels. The unsprung weight of the car's systems such as the wheels, suspensions and all other directly related components, is also reduced by the wheels of the car. This reduction helps to dramatically improve the grip of the wheels as well as the consumption of fuel.

Although it can depend largely on the size, most mag wheels weighs between 15 and 20 pounds. These rims are usually made for cars by shaping an alloy of magnesium while those for motorcycles use a magnesium cast disk. Since these wheels are typically more expensive than steel wheels, they do not usually come as standard equipment on a vehicle. In the beginning, these lightweight rims were used to flaunt the wealth of the owner. In more recent years, however, they have become exceedingly popular. They are now offered as add on options for some vehicles and standard equipment with other economy and compact cars.
Mag wheels, also known as mag tires, are sought after not only because of their aesthetic value but because they improve the ability of the brakes to dissipate the heat from them. They also make the car more lightweight and they improve acceleration. These are also the reasons why they are popular wheels on race cars
Because they are lightweight, these wheels are more flammable than other types of wheels. In addition, when they catch on fire, they are much more difficult to extinguish. For this reason, some countries have limited their usage in race cars. Fortunately, there are safer alternatives that are also more pocketbook friendly as well. This is due to the competition among large companies has helped to keep the prices of alloy wheels lower without compromising quality.
Alloy wheels, while not really mag wheels, are made by shaping different metals together to make an aluminum alloy. The result is a wheel that is both durable and lightweight. There are a number of advantages of alloy wheels. These include improved gas mileage, they are lightweight, reduced chance of brake failure, and they are able to conduct heat. Some popular base alloys that are used in wheel manufacturing include chrome, aluminum, and magnesium. The beauty of alloy wheels is not hidden behind the hubcaps. This is only one reason for their popularity.

Right ATV Trailer For Hunting

When it comes hunting using an ATV trailer or ATV cart to haul large game animals out of the woods, several issues should be considered before making your purchase. A successful hunt will result in a prize trophy or meat for the freezer, but getting the prize out of the field can be a major chore at times.

Blood is very corrosive and will start to rust a metal surface within hours if not washed out quickly. This can be very difficult if you are in the field and not close to a water supply.
The opposite issue can apply if you have water to travel across, streams, creeks or bogs. Sheet metal ATV trailers do not hold up well in these types of situations for obvious reasons.

For hunters using an ATV, the best trailer I have found for this use is a heavy-duty poly construction single axle ATV trailer. This type of trailer was designed with hunters in mind for use in rugged conditions and blood or water does not effect the poly bed. The unit is light enough actually float when empty which is great for fording water when necessary.
The poly bed can be put in the dump position and simply sprayed out with a garden hose easily. This will make sure you will not have any problems when your wife wants to use the trailer for hauling her bark mulch and flowers next spring.
The wheel bearings are equipped with grease fittings on the wheel hub, so it is easy to grease them and push water out of the bearings if they have been submerged.

Check out the tires. Are they worn out? Have the been patched or plugged numerous times? These could be indications of rough use or abuse.
Always take a friend with you when going to look at an used atv. Raise the ATV up if possible to check the underside. Make sure to look at all the shock points and check for any rust or damaged areas. This includes cracks in the frame. Look for signs of fresh paint. This may mean a recent repair.

If you're buying a used 4x4 atv, check out the cv joint boots. If they are cracked, this can allow water to get inside. This will cause rust and lead to major damage, which leads to major repair cost!
While you down there, check the oil in both differentials. Does it look milky or chocolate colored? This is a sign of water. You can also use this rule of thumb for the engine oil.
Be sure to look at the sprocket or sprockets. If the sprockets are worn on one side or bent, it's likely time for a new chain and sprocket.
Support the front end with jack stands. Then try to move each front wheel in and out from top to bottom and side to side to check for worn wheel bearings and ball joints. Do the same for the rear.
To check for worn tie rod ends, try and move the handle bars back and forth. There should be little to no play.

Don't forget to remove the seat and check the air box for dirt and water. This is often overlooked and can be a sign of abuse or lack of maintenance should you find a dirty one.
Use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the gas tank. If there is rust, it could indicate costly engine repairs. And yes, gas tanks rust. By the way, don't be stupid and use an open flame to try and see into the gas tank. I heard of one story where this happened with bad results!
Turn the lights on/off and make sure all work.
Take the atv for a spin. Does the atv start right up or is it sluggish? Try a few hard stops. Do the brakes function properly? Does it handle well? Look and listen for anything out of place.
Does the exhaust have the spark arrestor in place? Many owners remove these. However, National Forest and other public trails require spark arrestor's to be in place. Owners without them can be fined and prevented from riding in these places.
What about the body? Is there any damage? Cracked or otherwise damaged body parts will need replacing.
These simple tips will go a long ways in making sure your used atv will give you many good rides and prevent those unexpected repair bills.

Moped or scooter-travel a long way on a full tank of gas

Save money on gas now with a moped or scooter! There's no other motorized vehicle that competes with mopeds or scooters, when it comes to the cost of ownership, including the low initial investment, the cost of insurance, the maintenance requirements and above all, the money you'd spend on fuel.

A 50cc Moped will travel a long way on a full tank of gas, so imagine how much gas money you will be saving even in one month!
Of course, with a moped scooter under 50cc, you won't be able to travel at breakneck speed, and most of the models may have speed restrictions built into them but with a reasonable max. speed for safety reasons of course. Besides, on many highways, scooters and mopeds are not allowed so you won't have to worry about competing with the speed demons.
For zooming around the streets of larger or small cities and towns, mopeds and scooters are great, and they are a very popular form of transportation, being easy to maneuver and significantly less expensive when comparing the operation of a car in today's high fuel price economy.

So with today's high price of fuel, isn't it a good idea to better consider a moped or scooter to get you as far as 220 miles on a full tank of gas! And with its small engine and speeds not exceeding 40 miles per hour, perhaps our current energy crisis - caused by natural, political or trading disaster - the versatile fuel economizer moped and scooter will once again quickly became a popular mode of transport.

Not only students but many folk on fixed or low incomes, will love scooters and mopeds, since the fuel consumption of these two-wheeled vehicles are only a fraction of the gas/fuel a car would use. And only a regular license is needed in many states or provinces - but you should check first to make sure what the legal restrictions are.
Vespa, Honda, Yamaha, Wildfire, Piaggio, Aprila, Lambretta, Kymco are just some of the manufacturers of mopeds and scooters to help you save on gas . Whether its a "top line" scooter costing up to $9000, or your basic 50cc scooter moped for under $1000, these fuel economizers can be a lot of fun and an economical mode or transport.
So what is a moped or scooter? A Moped is a class of low-powered two-wheeled upright (under 50cc displacement) motorized vehicle. The rider's back perpendicular to the seat. A scooter is also a style of two-wheeled motor vehicle traditionally defined by characteristics such as a wheels less than a diameter of 16in., an engine located below the rider and to the rear, and a step-through frame, but with under and over 50cc engine displacement.

Charge Your Car Battery -car turn over slower and make for harder starts

As it gets older you car battery can start to lose its charge. When you battery is weak it can cause your car turn over slower and make for harder starts. There may be times when you have to jump start your car because your battery just can't do it. This is very common when you only use your car for quick trips to the grocery or the weather gets bitterly cold. You could just buy a new battery but if you had a cheap battery charger things could be different. With a low priced battery charger you may be able to keep your battery going for a lot longer.

Pay attention to the warning lights on you car's dashboard, there will be one that lights up if there is a problem with the electrical charging system in your car. If you have a fault in your alternator or elsewhere in your charging system you need to get it fixed without hesitation. Simply charging your battery won't solve your problem. If your battery is an open cell type that you can replenish the water in you should open the cells and place a damp rag over the openings when you recharge your battery.

If you have sealed battery with a charge indication window on top of your battery you should only use a charger if the window shows green or black. IF there is nothing in the window (it's clear) or is is yellowish you need to change that battery out for another one.
You can use a low amp charger, often called a trickle charger to add life to your battery. Trickle chargers are cheap and will refresh your battery's power very slowly over an extended period of time. Your trickle charger will be equipped with two jaw type clips to connect to your battery posts and a plug-in cord that will draw power from a regular outlet. One of your alligator clips should be red (this is our positive clip) and the other will be green or black (this is your negative clip.)
You should only attempt to charge your battery with your car's ignition turned to the off position. This first step is important, so don't forget it. You will first connect the red clip to the positive battery post which will be marked with either a + or the letters POS. After you have connected to the positive terminal you will then attach the negative clip to the corresponding negative terminal. It will be marked NEG or -.

Once you have properly attached the battery charger to your battery terminals you will need to connect your charger to an electricity source via an ordinary outlet and switch it on. You will need to run the charger for a number of hours or overnight for good results. You should pay attention to the charger's meter. When it reads less than one amp your charge should be complete. When you have finished charging your battery you should switch off, unplug you charger and disconnect it from your battery.

If your battery still will not start your car after recharging you should then attempt to jump start your engine. If you can jump start your car and you have no warning lights and your ammeter tells you that your charging system is working properly you will need to replace the battery with a new one.
