For the first time Mercedes-Benz is offering a choice of three variants of the lightweight-construction vario-roof for the new SLK: in just a few seconds this feature transforms the roadster into a coupe with a “fixed” roof at the touch of a button – and vice versa: The standard version is a roof painted in the vehicle color. Optionally available is a panorama vario-roof with dark-tinted glass. The third option is a world premiere – the panorama vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL. This glass roof switches to light or dark at the press of a button. In light mode it is virtually transparent, offering an open-air experience even in cold weather. In its dark state the roof provides welcome shade and prevents the interior from heating up from the sun’s rays. In other words: a comfortable atmosphere at the touch of a button.

• top speed is nearly 120 mph;
• consumes 5.3 L pf fuel per 100 km;
• presents a new engine producing technology Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI);

As to the price, it is currently unknown, but we perfectly know, that cars with a diesel engine are more expensive, that those with standard engines. But Mercedes F 700 and its brand-new engine can be a perfect alternative to the existing ones.

This new vehicle, named as Mercedes R class in India is going to be the only car in this segment and has ample opportunity to carve out a niche for itself.

This new Mercedes R class features a 3498cc V6 petrol engine that will provide a maximum power of about 272bhp at 6000rpm and a maximum torque of about 35.7Nm at 2400rpm. It does the 0-100 sprint in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 230kph. Nothing yet is decided about the diesel variant of Mercedes R class for the Indian market.

This new Mercedes R class, which is an all-wheel-drive automatic, comes with Mercedes' latest generation 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. It has the shift paddles placed on the steering wheel while a Direct Select lever is on the steering column. This new MPV, which can seat upto seven people has redone front grille, headlights, bonnet and wings in it.

Some of the notable features that this new Mercedes R class offers are bi-xenon headlamps, steel spring suspension in front and AIRmatic (Adaptive Intelligent Ride control) system featuring self-levelling air suspension in the rear. It also features a leather-covered tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control and a choice of high gloss wood trims, command system with an in-dash six-disc CD/DVD changer, eight-inch screens for the rear passengers, a DVD player and wireless headphones etc.

The interior of the Ciento Once resembles the original from the 70's with some updated features: carbon fiber seats covered in plaid, instrumentation modeled after a W120R MB (including the radio and the a/c control unit), brushed aluminum pedals, dashboard accent, and illuminated door sills.


The power plant is a M120 Mercedes V12 engine with 408 HP, which can be admired trough a glass on the rear deck. The robust engine is paired with a 6-speed Cima H type transaxle and a special tuned exhaust.


The Ciento Once will feature a slightly shorter wheelbase than the original (103 in) and maintain the weight around 1,400kg. Assisted by the upgraded suspension with coil-overs, to adjust the ride and height, and the same braking set up as the S55 Mercedes Benz, this car will definitely be fun to drive.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class promises to be a more fuel-efficient two-seater with better performance and driving dynamics, plus all the virtues that have made past models so popular. SLK gains a whole host of the latest assistance systems to support the driver, including the drowsiness detection system known as Attention Assist, developed by Mercedes-Benz. 2 012 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class could come to the U.S. with a diesel option. This would likely be the same 2.1-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder planned for Europe. Various reports suggest horsepower of 205-225, but the key point is thumping torque of over 400 pound-feet, which should make the oil-burner a hot performer. Fuel economy should be equally impressive, with possible real-world averages of near 40 mpg. So what are the chances for a U.S.-market diesel SLK? Hard to say, but we think Mercedes might just give it a go, if only because Audi and BMW don't sell diesel two-seaters here--at least not yet.

2012 Mercedes C-Class sports a new direct-injection 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engines delivering a 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque. It also sports a 7-speed automatic gear transmission. The fuel economy of 2012 Mercedes C-Class is improved upto around 15% with these redesign in engine and transmission.Mercedes Benz is introducing a new V6 gasoline engine in the C350 Sport sedan. This engine features the innovative and efficient BlueDIRECT process. The C350 Sport sedan generates 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque (previously 268 hp and 258 lb-ft) while improving the fuel economy by 5% compared with the present model. The four- cylinder engine features direct injection and turbo charging and is also distinguished by outstanding combined fuel economy of 24 mpg. This marks an improvement of nearly 15% compared with the 2011MY C300.

2012 Mercedes C-Class Luxury Sedan has got an acceleration of 0-60 miles per hour in 7.1 seconds.
