There are things you immediately notice when you climb in and start one up as well. Firstly, it is much more dignified when you start the engine up. It doesn't scream into life and blow out all the neighbours windows. The engine catches and then quickly settles into a gentle tickover. It will turn the heads of peopl walking down the street but it won't wake the neighbours up.

Inside the car the cabin is a big step up on previous generations with a futuristic looking contoured dash angled towards the driver. It's also fairly functional with two displays either side of the central dash, one for the sat-nav and there other providing a host of information about the cars current status. Some argue that the styling of Ferrari's over recent years haven't been too great - eye-catching yes but not always pretty. If that were the case then the 458 bucks the trend. It truly is a sight to behold. The exterior style isn't purely for show either though with performance always in mind. The 458 is undoubtedly the performance car launch of the year and has thrown down the gauntlet for its competitors.

Its power unit was a further development of the original Colombo-designed single overhead camshaft per bank V12 engine. The Testarossa revived perhaps the most revered name in Ferrari's history and the engine was the first four-valves-per-cylinder 180deg V12 cylinder configuration unit fitted in a Ferrari road car. The first V12 of 1946, designed by Gioachino Colombo, was an engine of mere 1.5-litre capacity; by the time its direct descendants had reached the end of their development, they had grown to 4.0 liters. To simply call the 458's engine powerful would be too much of a compliment to other powerful engines on the road. To reduce weight from the already light 458 Italia, engineers used thinner body panels and carbon fiber as well as Lexan wherever possible in this track-only model. Equipped with lightweight body panels and specially tuned suspension, the 458 Italia Challenge is the first Challenge racer to use the F1-Trac traction control system and it is Ferrari's first racing application of the dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. The F1-Trac system allows to constantly monitoring levels of grip for maximum high-performance road-holding and it is fully integrated with the E-Diff to guarantee maximum acceleration and stability into and out of corners. The ABS/EBD, F1-Trac and E-Diff calibration settings are selected thru the manettino placed in the steering wheel. It is the first time this solution has been adopted on a Ferrari Challenge series model. The driver can choose from three configurations: OFF (traction control deactivated), position 1 and position 2, which have progressively higher levels of control system intervention.

2011 The Ferrari-458 is Super Fast Cars

The engine is the same block as used in the California too, except it takes on different characteristics after the aluminum has been cast. The stroke has been increased to give 4.5 litres instead of 4.3 and it is now good for 9000 revs and 562 bhp. That's 125 bhp per litre. And there are no turbo's or superchargers involved here. That's also a 70 bhp increase over the ordinary F430 but despite this, the 458 Italia is more economical and produces less CO2.

Let's talk performance. The 458 provides a huge power to weight ration and provides massive speed which doesn't just build and build - it's like a rocket ship all the way through the gears and right up to 9000 revs. In terms of the transmission the gearbox is a triumph and despite being a double clutched set-up with paddles on the wheel it is always very responsive and never feels removed or clinical. The throttle is almost too sensitive with no room to ease on the power with subtlety, which feels almost at odds with the refined transmission. Sound wise the 458 Italia delivers like you would expect from a Ferrari with a vicious roar and a throaty burble on the over-run.

Hybrid Toyota Supra, the next Ferrari, and the Toyobaru Coupe 2011

It is time once again a popular news semi-permanent, where you can upgrade some interesting things happening in and around the world can drive, you probably will not read the article. (If you read the newspapers, that is.)
We start with two news sports cars such as Plessy Ferguson and gentlemen, are very different, but equally important.

The first message that, despite repeated denials to the public, Toyota is working on a successor Supra expensive sports cars. There are rumors that a new generation of packaging V6 hybrid drive from a total of 400 horses, but the production of hybrid versions of those life on our planet, thank you very much. RWD is almost certainly a style by the FT-HS concept car inspired by a chance to be. Hope next year's models, a concept car production in autumn 2011.

Yet Another Pimped Out Ferrari - This Ones Called 2010 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M .




Ferrari releases a new and really pimped out convertible model which has been given a name as 2010 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M. Presented in front of the world in Formula one Constructor's World Championship in Mugello, the purpose was to celebrate the 16th Constructor's title in 2008 by the "prancing horse".

Bearing the very best Ferrari's latest mid-rear engine 8-cylinder technology, this model was released as a successor of the popular Ferrari F430 Spider. This time Ferrari has been able to shed some load off the wheels, almost 80 Kg. This one can be regarded as the fastest convertible ever produced by the Ferrari. In fact Scuderia Spider 16M was able to complete the Fiorano circuit faster than any other open top Ferrari.

Scuderia Spider is available in two signature colors and these are easy to guess which are Ferrari's standard Black and Red. Initially 499 units will be produced. However no further intentions have yet been expressed by the Ferrari representatives so far.

Coming to its features and specifications, Scuderia has a top speed of 193 mph or 315 Km/hr and can rush from 0 to 100 Km/hr in just 3.7 seconds. Making a quick review, it has a weight of 1640 Kg powered by 510 hp, V8 engine. Transmission type is 6-speed plus reverse F1 gearbox and 19 inches 5-spoke split rims. Interactive features include a roll bar with a carbon fiber outer shell with an exclusive new generation audio system which can be combined with the removable customized Ferrari 16 Gb ipod touch with a central dock just in front of the dashboard.

The 458 Challenge boasts a host of upgrades over its road-legal sibling to make it race worthy when it hits the grid in Ferrari’s one-make race series from 2011. The Ferrari 458 Challenge will make world premiere at the 35th edition of the Bologna Motor Show in Italy, which runs for the public from December 4 to 12.

Ferrari is also displaying a variety of other racing models from the past and present at its Bologna Motor Show stand, including a 430 GTC owned by the AF Corse team Ferrari and an F1 model.
Ferrari’s engineers have made modifications to the gear ratios and calibration of its dual-clutch F1 gearbox to further improve torque at lower revs. While the Challenge keeps the 458 Italia’s direct injection 4.5-liter V8 with an output of 570 hp at 9,000 rpm intact.

The Ferrari 458 Challenge is equipped with the E-Diff electronic differential already employed on the road-going version, a first for Ferrari’s track-only cars. Another first for a Ferrari Challenge model is the adoption of the firm’s F1-Trac traction control system. The race-spec model also gets a specific suspension set-up with steel uniball joints, stiffer springs, single-rate alloy dampers and a ride height lowered by 50mm all round.
Stopping power is provided by the new generation Brembo CCM2 brakes integrated with the latest ABS system which debuted on the 599XX, Ferrari’s experimental laboratory car, while it rides on centre-nut 19-inch forged rims wrapped in larger dimension Pirelli slicks.
Result of combined is the improvement of the car’s lap time at Fiorano by two seconds over that of its predecessor, resulting in a new record of just 1’16.5”.
